Bushel figures convert at 36.74 bushels per tonne. These are averages of posted bids, not a bid for your delivery point.

Bunge's Moose Jaw terminal closed amber durum at $318.34 per tonne on 26 October 2026, about $8.66 a bushel, as reported by SaskToday.

Over October, the southwest firmed while the southeast slipped, so the regional spread narrowed to under $5 a tonne.

What moves the amber durum price into November

  • World crop size. Canada, the EU and North Africa set durum supply; a big or small crop in any of them changes how much buyers need from Saskatchewan.

  • Importer buying. Saskatchewan supplied about 36 per cent of world durum exports in 2024, so foreign mills' need for supply sets the bid.

  • The Canadian dollar. A weaker loonie makes Canadian durum cheaper for foreign buyers.

  • Freight and port movement. Rail and port backlogs widen the gap between what buyers get and what they pay you.

  • The CWRS spread. Compare your local CWAD bid with your local CWRS bid; the cash spread is the most practical signal. See Durum vs Spring Wheat: How to Read the CWAD–CWRS Cash Spread.
