A common trading strategy is the following:

DO NOT HOLD POSITIONS OVER NEWS EVENTS, IE. WASDE.

Many experienced traders and professionals I respect, try not to hold positions over news events.

News events can be volatile, and open positions are considered too risky.

IT IS BETTER TO WISH YOU WERE IN A TRADE

THAN WISH YOU WERE OUT OF ONE.
